- Founded RootsRated.com in 2012
First, we built a media business.
We launched RootsRated.com to deliver the best information about outdoor experiences onto one publishing platform. From 2012 to 2016, our team became experts in content creation, distribution, and measurement—creating more than 8,000 original articles and scaling RootsRated.com into one of the country’s leading outdoor discovery platforms.
- Launched RootsRated Media in 2016
Next, we built software.
Under the RootsRated Media moniker, we developed content marketing technology to help lean marketing teams scale content production and measure the results. In addition to the technology platform, we provided done-for-you content services in the form of original content production, distribution management, and data analysis.
- Rebranded to Matcha in 2018
Then, we introduced Matcha.
By mid-2018, RootsRated Media had raised its Series A led by TechOperators, relocated from Chattanooga to Atlanta, and made the decision to rebrand as Matcha.
