Grow your list faster, understand your audience better, and segment your emails easily with Subscribers.
Email has the highest ROI of any marketing channel for direct-to-consumer businesses. It’s often the difference between profitable growth and unprofitable growth.
But, here’s the rub: That’s only true if your list is actually engaged with your brand.
Most small DTC brands are missing an opportunity to create a large, highly-engaged audience that they can market to for free via email. Typically, brands either are overly pushy, sending hard-sell emails all the time, or they’re too timid, constantly worried that they’re spamming their list.
Simply put, many brands don’t know enough about the people on their email list to effectively create an engaged audience.
That’s why I’m excited to share Matcha’s new feature, Subscribers!
Turn readers into subscribers and subscribers into buyers with Matcha
Matcha is the easiest way to publish high-quality articles on your blog. We’ve revolutionized publishing to your blog — instead of toiling over a post for hours, you can go into our library of 10,000+ professionally written articles and publish content in just a few clicks.
With Matcha’s new Subscribers feature, it’s easy to convert blog readers into email subscribers and build your audience faster. And we didn’t stop there. We’ve made it possible to gain deeper insight into your audience and easily segment those subscribers in your email marketing platform. Now, the data from Matcha can automatically be added to your Klaviyo or MailChimp account.
To build an engaged email list, there are three critical elements of Subscribers:
Turn off your blog popup because with locked content, you can turn any article you publish through Matcha into an email capture machine. Our customers typically see a 15% or higher conversion rate. Compare that to the average popup conversion rate of 3%! Just click the Locked Content toggle and start collecting more emails.
See all your audience data in one place. The new subscribers tab shows you who converted on all the forms and popups Matcha tracks — not just locked content. You get insights into each subscriber, including who they are, what they’re interested in, and their purchase history. Use the data to segment your emails and understand your audience more deeply.
Integrations with Klaviyo and MailChimp
Now, Matcha integrates with MailChimp and Klaviyo, so whenever you capture an email address with locked content, all the data available in the subscribers tab is available in your ESP. The integration makes it easy to set up automated email flows when someone signs up on your blog, so you can send targeted emails that nurture your audience to a sale.
5 powerful ways to use your new subscribers data
Read about some of the ways you can use locked content and subscriber data to attract, convert, and retain customers.
The data in the subscribers tab provides a wealth of opportunity to understand your audience and to easily segment your email marketing. When combined with locked content, you can create engaging email flows for your new subscribers.
Segmented emails typically produce 2x open rates and click-through rates as well as increase revenue from email, according to an analysis by Klaviyo.
Here are a few ways you can use the data:
- Export the data to get new insights about your audience.
Want to find out what your VIP customers who spend the most have in common? You can export subscribers data into a spreadsheet for deeper analysis to learn what they’re interested in, where they’re from, and how they engage with your brand.
- Segment your welcome series of emails.
When you capture a new subscriber using locked content, you can use data from Subscribers to set up an email flow segmented by the content topic, title, category, or tag the subscriber converted on. The email flows can provide content, products, and offers most relevant to that segment. This level of personalization can be the difference between a dormant email address and an engaged shopper.
- Create other segmented email campaigns.
Now, you can easily segment your email list to be more relevant to your subscribers’ interests. For example, you could segment a Black Friday campaign based on your subscribers’ interests, sending different discounts or highlighting different products based on their engagement with your blog.
- Find lookalike audiences.
Segment your email list based on topics, tags, or other metadata to create lookalike audience to use in Facebook ads. Then, serve those new audiences content that has proven to engage and convert people like them.
- Create an automated Facebook ad funnel.
Here’s how you can use Matcha to reach new audiences on Facebook and nurture them to a sale.
- Publish a variety of ads on Facebook promoting various articles from Matcha.
- Identify the ads with the lowest cost per click and/or the highest engagement rate, and turn on locked content for that article.
- Convert the Facebook campaign to a CPL campaign.
- Create an automated email flow for anyone who converts on these articles. Send related content and product offers using these tips on converting readers into customers.
