To our friends and customers:
Today I am pleased to announce that we are joining forces with Springbot in a merger that I believe has tremendous potential to help our customers differentiate and grow their businesses.
Springbot’s marketing automation and attribution platform is a critical solution for today’s direct to consumer (DTC) retailers to level the playing field against larger competitors. The combination of Matcha’s blog creator, article marketplace, and content analytics with Springbot’s platform that includes email, social, ads and the recently launched SMS Marketing, creates a powerful all-in-one communication platform to better serve DTC brands.
I want to reinforce the opportunities I think the Matcha + Springbot combination presents, in what are hopefully clear and practical terms. As we evaluated this opportunity together, we converged around two key opportunities:
Together we can expand the value we provide to SMB merchants by combining content creation, management, and insights with the primary rails of digital communication: email, SMS, social, ads. I believe this union has the opportunity to help small brands and retailers make huge leaps in omnichannel personalization. There are no platforms on the market that I’m aware of that have the potential that we now have to help merchants leverage content and distribution within a unified and holistic solution.
The beginning of our journey together is the convergence of email and content. And this beginning can serve to accelerate Springbot’s vision to be the best all-in-one ecommerce communication platform for the omnichannel retailer. The future holds an incredible opportunity to unify the most important communication tools in digital marketing into an all-in-one application that reduces data silos and complexities for lean teams.
The last ~10 years have been an incredible journey for Matcha (and formerly RootsRated Media), full of ups and downs. None of it would be possible without our amazing team and the marketers who’ve used our tools, leveraged our services, and helped us elevate our value constantly. We couldn’t have done it without you.
We started Matcha with the idea that content would be the fuel of the customer experience, and that by combining great content from premium publishers with ecommerce-specific tools for creating blog posts, content analytics, and audience segmentation, we could help lean marketing teams grow their businesses sustainably.

I want to assure you that Matcha will remain available to our customers and that we are not going anywhere. Both Matcha and Springbot share a vision to make running multichannel marketing simple through content, automation, and analytics. We have long admired Springbot’s vision to be the all-in-one marketing platform of choice for SMB retailers, their approach to supporting their customers, and their culture, which aligns with our own emphasis on curiosity, empathy, and transparency.
Going forward, Matcha will still provide best-in-class content and content tools. Our mission remains unchanged. We will simply have more resources to continue building products that make content personalization easier to achieve for our customers.
We are excited to share more about what we’ll be working on together in the coming months. I believe this marriage has the opportunity to help small brands and retailers, and we are only just getting started.
